Strip the original

Rendition has finally arrived...To confirm this I recommend that you check out Dj Mark Ronson's -Version. This (not so) new kid on the block's sophomore album 'Version' features cover versions of Coldplay's 'God Put A Smile On Your Face', The Smiths' 'Stop Me' feat. DAniel Merriweather and Bob Dylan's 'Most Likely You Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine' , Britney Spear's 'Toxic to name a few. It also features Amy Winehouse who is one among a dozen guest singers on the album.

Purists/ fans will always argue that the original is sacred . Whether or not it's better than the original is irrelevant. After all these Versions were approved by the original artists!

I am a Coldplay fan but Mark's rendition really takes cake. Incorporating breakbeat and horns that's some slick production!

Even 'Stop Me' by The Smiths is classic just like the original feat. soul singer Daniel Merriweather.

Amy Winehouse's jazzy vocals are teamed with an orchestral score in 'Valerie' (The Zutons)

In the Kaiser Chief's 'Oh My God' Lily Allen introduces variation in the otherwise monotonous chorus.

The rest of the album is a great listen, though some tracks are notably better than the others.

I dont care if you buy it/rip it or download it but definitely give it a listen.

Kudos to Ronson !
